What is the difference between filter and bag shop vac

There are two types of shop vacs: filter based and filtering bag based.

Single filter based vacs are easier to empty out, and the filter is cheaper. However, it gets very clogged with fine dust.

The bag filter based shop vac is better with fine dust, but it still needs periodic purchases of the filtering bag.
